CLOSURE
No model can include all observed processes.
This is especially true of ecological models.
In plankton  models the line is usually drawn at
“higher predators”.
This requires a closure term parameterising all
of the effects of the higher predators.
Models are often very sensitive to the functional
form used for the closure.
