Geophysical Fluid Dynamics
In Geophysical Fluid Dynamics, by using a hierarchy of models, from
simplified quasi-geostrophic and rotating shallow water to full
primitive equations models, we investigate fundamental aspects of
dynamical phenomena in the atmosphere and ocean. We work on vortex
dynamics, instabilities of stratified and rotating flows,
geophysical turbulence, nonlinear wave dynamics, wave- wave,
wave-vortex, and wave-mean interactions.
