- Below the critical stirring rate, there is a characteristic filament transverse structure (this is related to A.P. Martin, J. Plank. Res. 22, 597 (2000))
- Stirring enlarges the filament longitudinally until space filling:
- Above a critical stirring rate, this solution ceases to exist:
excitation is killed by dilution
- If filaments are too wide (too slow strain rate) they are refractive at the center: coherence is lost again
- Rule for coherent bloom: fast rate>l>slow rate
